Lustau Almacenista Manzanilla Pasada de Sanlúcar 1/80 Jurado
Description
Pale straw in colour, this Manzanilla Pasada is delightfully aromatic, reminiscent of green apples, with the characteristic hint of a sea breeze. Dry and fresh, light, yet with substance and body and a refreshing acidity. Awarded Gold Medal at the IWC 2005.
When To Drink it
As an apéritif or to accompany seafood and fish dishes.
How To Serve it
Serve lightly chilled.
The Almacenista
Manuel Cuevas Jurado's historical bodegas in the Calle Trabajadero are a maze of old corners and patios, where 2,500 butts of Sherry are maturing.

Lustau Almacenista Manzanilla Amontillada de Sanlúcar 1/21 Jurado
Description
Old gold in colour, the wine has a pungent and aromatic bouquet, reminiscent of the sea air of the Andalusian coastline.  Awarded Gold Medal at the IWC 2006.
When to Drink it
Drink as an apéritif, or to accompany foie gras, cured and red meats, cheeses, or even rich fish or seafood dishes.
How To Serve it
Serve slightly chilled.

Lustau Almacenista Amontillado del Puerto 1/10 Obregon
Description
A tawny gold colour, this elegant and classic amontillado wine is pungent and aromatic, with oaky notes. On the palate it is nutty, with a hint of sweetness, but with a lingering dry finish.  Awarded Gold Medal at the IWC 2005.
When To Drink it
Drink as an apéritif, with tapas, nuts and olives, or to accompany cold and smoked meats, cheese board or even rich flavoured fish or seafood dishes.
How To Serve it
Serve slightly chilled.
The Almacenista
José Luis González Obregón was a retired Capataz General. From his cellars with their 1,500 butts of Sherry, we have chosen three wines: a Fino del Puerto from a solera of 143 butts, an Amontillado del Puerto from a solera of 10 butts and an Oloroso from a solera of 110 butts.

Lustau Almacenista Palo Cortado Vides 1/50
Description:
A light amber gold colour, this Palo Cortado is dry and has an immensely rich flavour, with nuances of vanilla, coffee and dark chocolate.  Awarded Bronze Medal at the IWC 2006.
When To Drink it:
As an aperitif with nuts.
How To Serve it:
Served at cool room temperature.
The Almacenista:
Vides S.A. was founded in 1958 by Don Tomas Domecq Rivero, and the bodegas are located a few hundred yards from Lustau's main cellars in the old Santiago quarter of the city. Today, his grandson, Don Fernando Leon Manjon owns the bodega.

Lustau Almacenista Oloroso Pata de Gallina 1/38 Jarana
Description:
Dark gold in colour, with aromas of dried fruits. Very rich and concentrated with a powerful intensity on the palate, found in the oldest soleras of Oloroso sherries.  Awarded Bronze Medal at the IWC 2004.
When To Drink it:
Either as an apéritif with toasted almonds or olives, or to accompany rich game dishes, or with the cheeseboard.
How To Serve it:
Serve at cool room temperature.
The Almacenista:
Don Juan García Jarana has this 100 year old bodega as a hobby. He has 300 butts of Finos, Amontillados and Olorosos - as well as Sherry vinegar - mainly given to friends and business associates. Lustau purchases small quantities of this Oloroso from a solera of 38 butts.

Description:
An outstanding example of Jerez’s classic Amontillado wines. A jewel bright dark gold colour, with penetrating and nutty aromas. On the palate the wine is elegant, powerful, rich and dry, yet light, with a warming, lingering finish.  Awarded Silver Medal at the IWC 2004.
When To Drink it:
As an apéritif; or to accompany consommé, rich soups, cold meats, or even rich flavoured fish and seafood dishes.
How To Serve it:
Serve at cool room temperature.
The Almacenista:
Don Miguel Fontádez Florido, a chemist by trade, from a wine making family, takes pride in his unique “sacristía”, located behind his pharmacy in Jerez, where he has an amazing collection of antiques, pottery, paintings and fascinating bric-a-brac. It is a maze of small rooms, in the deepest recesses of which is a tiny bodega containing just a few casks of some exquisite, very old wines.

Lustau Almacenista Fino del Puerto 1/143 Obregon
Description:
Pale and straw-coloured; light, dry and tangy, with elegance on the palate. Tim White of Australia, in his column for the Financial Review, nominated this Fino as Wine of the Year, and commented: "Full on flor aromas, chestnuts, almond spice, fresh smells of the sea. Soft textures, excellent length, and wholemeal bread, tangy parmesan cheese mouth-aromas."
When To Drink it:
As an apéritif serve with "serrano" ham, cheese, almonds or olives. Serve at the table with fresh fish, prawns, oysters.
How To Serve it:
Serve chilled, and once opened, treat the wine as you would a white table wine.
The Almacenista:
Sr. González Obregón is a retired Cellarmaster, or "Capataz" from a well known sherry house, which has since disappeared.Upon retiring he became an "almacenista" or stockholder, registered with the Consejo Regulador, and his bodegas hold some 1,500 casks of wine. His nephew now takes care of the daily running of the bodega.

Description:

Lustau Almacenista Oloroso del Puerto 1/110 Obregon
Description:
Mahogany colour, with khaki hues. Concentrated, fragrant and smoky aromas. Full in the mouth with complex flavours of wood, fruit, dark chocolate and spice, this is a warming wine, with a clean, lightly acid aftertaste.  Awarded Silver Medal at the IWC 2004.
When To Drink it:
Serve with toasted almonds, olives, matured cheeses, or to accompany game dishes, and red meats. Offer this wine also with the cheeseboard
How To Serve it:
Serve at cool room temperature, in a sherry “copita”, or white wine glass.
The Almacenista:

Description:
Dark amber-gold colour, with pungent smoky wood aromas. A rich and intense wine, yet light and elegant as an Oloroso, with a tangy acidity on the palate, reminiscent of the sea breeze.  Awarded Gold Medal at the IWC 2005.
When To Drink it:
A s an apéritif with Manchego cheese or olives, or to accompany rich game and red meat dishes; also serve as a digestif.
How To Serve it:
Serve at cool room temperature.
The Almacenista:
The Cuevas family has an important grocery wholesale business in Sanlúcar, in addition to vineyards in the Callejuelas district, with some of the best "albariza" soils. Don Manuel Cuevas Jurado has an infectious enthusiasm when speaking about his wines, and it is a joy to listen to him talk of them, a glass of chilled Manzanilla in his hand, sitting in one of the shady corners of his picturesque bodegas in the Calle Trabajaderos.

Lustau Almacenista Oloroso de Jerez 1/16 Zamorano
Description:
Dark gold in colour, with pungent aromas of dried fruits and spice. Very rich and concentrated, with a powerful intensity on the palate, and a long, clean finish.  Awarded Silver Medal at the IWC 2005.
When To Drink it:
With toasted almonds, olives, as an apéritif; to accompany rich game and meat dishes; with the cheese board - particularly good with well matured cheeses such as manchego or parmesan.
How To Serve it:
Serve at cool room temperature.
The Almacenista:
As with most of our Almacenistas, the maturing of Sherries is more of a hobby than a commercial enterprise for Sr. Zamorano. He is a well known entrepreneur in Jerez, and has a business consultancy and interests in many sectors of local trade and agriculture. A very well travelled man, Angel Zamorano takes enormous pride in the wines (some 300 butts) held in his bodegas.
